First time here? It takes three steps

  1. Accept your Canvas invitation. Canvas is Baylor’s online classroom, and your enrollment starts with an invitation email you must accept. The next section walks you through finding and accepting it.
  2. Do your coursework in Canvas. Readings, videos, quizzes, discussions, grades, and your grader’s feedback all live there.
  3. Sign in here with the same email address. This portal shows your progress and certificate journey, and lets you send requests to the OCP office — press Student Login above whenever you are ready.

Step 1 — Find and accept your Canvas invitation

  1. Look for an invitation email from Canvas. It arrives at the email address you enrolled with, shortly after the OCP office adds you to a course. The sender is Canvas (from “Instructure”, the company that runs it) — searching your email for “invitation” or “instructure” finds it fastest.
  2. Cannot find it? Check your spam or junk folder. Invitation emails land there often — especially with church email addresses and Yahoo. If you find it in spam, mark it as “not spam” so future emails arrive normally.
  3. Open the email and press the button inside (it says something like “Get Started” or “Accept”), then follow the steps on the screen to finish setting up your Canvas account.
  4. If the link has expired or nothing happens, do not worry — invitations expire after a while. Email us at [email protected] and we will send a fresh one. This is quick and completely normal.
  5. Afterward, Canvas is always at https://baylorcatalog.instructure.com — bookmark it. Your Dashboard there shows every course you are enrolled in.

Step 2 — Work in Canvas, week by week

  1. Open your course from the Canvas Dashboard and begin with the first module.
  2. Each course is organized into weekly modules — readings, videos, quizzes, and discussions, in order, at your own pace.
  3. Your grader reviews what you submit and leaves feedback for you right in Canvas. Grades always live in Canvas, not here.

Step 3 — Sign in to this portal (here is exactly what happens)

  1. Press Student Login and enter the email address you use for Canvas.
  2. We email you right away from Truett Seminary OCP. The email contains a sign-in link and a 6-digit code — either one signs you in.
  3. On a phone, tapping the link is easiest. On a computer, type the code — the code works on any device, even when the email is on your phone.
  4. If the email does not arrive in two minutes, check spam, then request a new code. Use the newest email — a new code replaces the old one.
  5. You stay signed in for about three months on each device. No password, ever.

What is the Student Portal?

The Student Portal shows your coursework progress, grading status, pace, and certificate journey in one place — and lets you request elective credit, learner transcripts, and certificate printing without emailing the office. Grades themselves always live in Canvas.
